Compensation of Academic Loss Programme (CALP)
The Compensation of Academic Loss Programme (CALP) is a specific initiative aimed at supporting students who have faced academic disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
CALP in KVs focuses on addressing the learning gaps and academic losses incurred by students during the pandemic-induced school closures. The program is designed to:
- Identify learning gaps: Assess students’ learning levels and identify areas where they need extra support.
- Bridge learning gaps: Provide additional academic support, such as remedial classes, to help students catch up with their peers.
- Enhance learning outcomes: Focus on improving students’ understanding and retention of critical concepts and skills.
- Support vulnerable students: Provide extra support to students who have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic, such as those from economically weaker sections or with limited access to digital resources.
The CALP in KVs typically involves:
- Diagnostic assessments to identify learning gaps
- Remedial classes and additional support sessions
- Modified teaching strategies to address learning gaps
- Regular progress monitoring and feedback
- Collaboration with parents and teachers to ensure student support
By implementing CALP, Kendriya Vidyalayas aim to ensure that students who have faced academic disruptions during the pandemic are able to recover and achieve their full academic potential.
